Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with a detailed overview of best Botox and filler practices. It introduces topics that range from the technical to the soft skills required for success. Some of the specific topics discussed include: What is Botulinum toxin? What are its uses? Anatomy of the face and zones to be careful with, areas for BTX injections, Dosing considerations, Handling and storage, Techniques to avoid complications in the upper and lower face, Advanced injection techniques, What are fillers? Variety of fillers and their use, Anatomical challenges, Nasolabial and marionette corrections, Augmentation of cheeks and lips, Tear trough corrections, Soft face lifts including 8-point lift and Barbie lift, Introduction to cannulas and techniques to avoid complications, Medical directives, consent, documentation and College expectations. To be certified it will be required to participate in a practical session at Looks Aesthetic Academy.
In college, specifically in medical or specialized nursing programs, students learn about Botox in courses related to dermatology, cosmetic procedures, and sometimes pharmacology.
